Lis was quicker and spot on

And a pretty good score for just going in!

Day 2 – 19th August 2017 continued..
We arrived early Lower Sabie early and took a seat somewhere in front of about hut number 20 while waiting for 14h00 check in time. The first thing we noticed was a lioness walking on the other side of the Sabie River. Cailin managed to get a few pics.

After checking in and unpacking we started the afternoon drive along the H4-1 to the S79 causeway, which turned out to be very quiet.
A few dustbin raiders in the car park

Hidden lion

We ended the day with Ellies in the dark before returning to camp.

We had booked two BD3U’s and a BD2U for the nights that we were at Lower Sabie, this was to fit the 7 of us, Granny and Cailin in one BD3U, Mel, Teagan and myself in the other and Roxy & Kelly in the BD2U. The BD3U’s were filthy and both full of bats and bat guano, so bad that you could not use the kitchen or single bed in both BD3U huts.
We tried to block the holes where the bats were entering and clean what we could, but the stink was so bad that we either stayed outside or in the bedroom with the glass door shut!! Sanparks were again as unhelpful as I have come to expect.
