Ahhhh..... Lisbeth , that is a very good question , and many answers can be given :-)

You know , anyone can make wine . Its one of the easiest things in the world to do . Just take juice , any juice , preferably grape , and allow it to ferment and become wine . It doesn't matter what quality . It is wine . In any event , many people do not even know the difference between good wine and bad wine .
For instance , Richprins does not even know the difference between wine and olive oil :O^ - You see , he is a beer drinker ;-) X#X

Now , to make a good wine , it needs something more - you need to take good care , and to do this , you need to have some knowledge . O**

But , in order to make a GREAT wine , now that is something quite different 0*\ And the very first requirement , is that the winemaker must be an ARTIST O:V

OK , oh well , I assume you know all those regulars with big reputations on the Stellenbosch/Paarl side of the mountain ?

Well , when you do visit , you should cross the mountain to the Worcester side , and visit some wineries such as Du Toit'skloof , Du Preez , Groot Eiland , Goudini , Deetlef's , Conradie , Avondrood , Botha , Bergsig , Jason's Hill , Nuy .
Or on to Robertson , you will find excellent wines at Rooiberg , Claurvaux , Roodezandt , Robertson Winery , and Van Loveren winery .
And travel another 100 kilometres towards Barrydale , to find Joubert-Tradouw , which makes absolutely superb wines , and certainly worth travelling that extra distance . Besides , the scenery is great too ^Q^

Or just stop off in Worcester itself , go to the Kaap-Agri wineshop , where you can buy most of these wines at one place , at prices as low as SAR30 for a 750 ml bottle 0*\
