In nature, it's much easier to see the difference as the male is sturdier, especially the neck and it behaves differently from the fillies, always on guard and staying on the outside of the group.

What about leopards, cheetah and hyena? They also don't show sexual dimorphism. -O-

The male is much bigger and heavier than the female and has a "double chin". It also has a different expression ;-)

But sometimes it is difficult to recognize the sturdiness from a picture. Easier in real again.
