Serious question - I have been grappling with how to submit my contribution since there are SO many intercepts of emails etc. that aren't encrypted, properly secured, etc.

Even companies that PURPORT to be up the task are hacked and data exposed.

I used to think sending my CC info. was both easy and safe...not so much anymore as we all know. After one instance of sending my CC info. to SA (RP knows about this), it was shortly thereafter used to book expensive visits to luxury hotels, flights, etc., and also used for Singapore bookings. I had also just paid my SanParks account balance on-line, so that was another possible exposure. I also understand it could be someone from anywhere that hacked my info., NOT from SA.

My question is - what is the SAFEST way to pay for my contribution? Thanks so much to those much more in tune with current security risks than am I. 0/0

I'm not sure, Ex, and can't remember knowing about your misfortune.. :o0ps: :-(

But I don't know of any others over the years, and there have been dozens of payments by WN's using the cc system? The gunshop did tell me though, that a "manual swipe" is vetted far more carefully by the banks now, so takes much longer. -O-

Hello ExFmem, I am also reluctant to disclose my credit card details by email, so I asked the shop to give me its bank details (IBAN, SWIFT...) and I asked my bank to do a transfer directly to them. Maybe it costs some dollars more (not even sure of that as you also have fees on the CC) but it is safe.

I think Richprins was in copy of my exchange with the shop so he has the bank details. If not, I can give them to you by private message.

Sis 0/*

Maybe send the various cc details in two or three SMS' or also e-mails with some days between one and the others -O-

I can understand that you are careful after what has happened

Sending money from here to SA cost R100 plus whatever your own bank is charging.

There is no confirmed reason that this should not work safely, and I am not happy about speculating.

No one's speculating here, RP. Ex had first hand experience of being swiped obviously.
And it happened to us before as well, just in a different circumstance. The threat is
real and I do understand people being reluctant sending delicate information like that
via mail.

But maybe Lis' suggestion would work? I'm not internet security savvy but that's how I'd
do it if I had to.
