What lovely photos, Ex!
A beautiful caracal indeed, and interesting about the mousebirds as you say...
Grand lion male!

The ostrich sequence is hilarious
Mel is right, it is a very "good" looking brown hyena
Of course the squirrels take the price
The caracal is looking rather funny in that position
It must have been love at first sight between the lions
The first time I saw a mousebird hanging like that I had to look twice to understand what kind of yoga position it was
The photos are and many more

Thanks so much, ExFmem,
Overall Incredible sightings you had - Still love the evenings feeding sessions of the jackals , also never saw an eland calf, the many different birds especially the raptors, honey badger and for sure the critters - That hairy insect is fantastic and an art of nature Very well done on spotting that

Alf (enjoy your trip to the KTP!! - will look forward to your TT ), RP, Flutts, Sis (I feel the same about the mating ostriches - they're so funny with all the flapping, swaying to and fro, and the male's neck gets bigger and bigger as he huffs and puffs, as opposed to the lions that look simply miserable throughout the ordeal. The lioness always reminds me of the cliche comeback "I shaved my legs for THAT?"), and Pumbaa (welcome back ) - you're all such troopers.
Re: KALAHARI CAPTURES - Sept./Oct. 2019
We spent one night at KK, then on to Grootkolk for three. At KK the only interesting creepy crawly I found was this little menace:
There wasn't a lot to be seen on the trip up, mainly birds, and a clump of lions.
We did enjoy finding yet another Honey Badger who was in the company of feathered friends.
A Martial Eagle was a frequent visitor to the camp waterhole,
as were the other usual visitors.
Day is done…

That tick reminds me why I'm not particularly fond of the creepers
Is that lion pride from somewhere around Kamelsleep?
Honey badger again But they seem to struggle with the drought too. Most look rather haggard.
The flashing vulture
Awesome sighting of the Martial! Was that at the camp waterhole in GK?
And of course the lovely sunset which makes me want to move the time forward
(even though we don't get to spend a single night at GK this time around and so far none in October either )
