what is interesting is that one has to register before partaking in the survey, it seems...maybe more secure, but hardly a valid sample of people? :-?

And when are sessions 1-6? -O-

Will do RP, Penny,..sorry for being so bloody formal!!
Unfortunately it has to be formal, if only for the records.

It bothers to note that a core of concerned individuals
get overlooked conveniently!!! If at all there would have
been consideration and true accommodation from their side,
regarding, then a personal invite would have been more precise!!

Nahh it stinks, will just barge in,....

Some thoughts from an OSV operator:

As far as I am concerned something must be done sooner than later. Its a sensitive issue, self-drive tourists are the lifeblood of the Kruger no doubt! However there is a big difference to "Ive been coming to Kruger for 40 years" I know what Im doing! You can teach me nothing! attitude to whats happening on the ground. This goes for all sides of the spectrum, English speaking, Afrikaans speaking, and foreigners, and with our newest visitors also now contributing to the hype around congestion. Then come the other factor OSV's every other persons pet hate to moan and b***h about.

Congestion has been an issue for the last 40/50 years. Today we see the park with an infrastructure designed for X number of visitors, but the infrastructure must deal with X to the power of 10.

My suggestion,

- stick to the gate quota's in the south.

- up the quotas to the other outlying gates to encourage travel there, even by offering discounts.

- encourage utilisation of osv's, whether park or otherwise (for every osv out there potentially takes 5 vehicles of the roads) this can be done by giving osv's access to management roads and out of the way stopoffs, to create other/different experiences. Early access and late exit (to accomodate sundowners) creating new experiences

- guides doing these services to be retrained and then redeployed

- the bringing about a Tourist Monitoring Unit, specially marked vehicles to monitor and control sightings with authority to write citations/and give warnings. Honourary rangers/volunteers and special training to be given. In depth background tests to be done! I probably wont pass that test lol

And I am sure these OSV guides will gladly drop their prices to accommodate families and people to bring it in line with what it costs if person is self driving? O**

Ja, I think he means well as a solution, but SP have created the problem and will want the solution for their own ends..

Another thing is that there are hundreds of non-tourist vehicles on the roads every day, from staff guests to deliveries to contractors to franchisees to concession guests to SAPS to Army to Mozambiquan shoppers...that is a bigger problem as few give a damn about toddling along looking for game. O**

Let's make a long story short, also let's appreciate other
points of view!!. It's quite simple, the curator beginning
to admit!!! KNP, in the south, has reached saturation point.

Finding other means and processes to pump masses through
the park are really not the answer, that to create a bottomless
pit of financial resource!!

1. The gate quotas were increased for the Soccer world Cup in 2010, but never decreased again, as promised.
2. Non-tourist vehicles should also fall under gate quotas!
3. Mjejane gate has been closed for around a year now, yet their quota remains on the system?

Your comments exclude any other developments that may
be conducive toward traffic numbers,. these situations cleverly
avoided by authority!!!
