What a wonderful way to manage stress! Love the ellie encounter! Glad that the species in P-berg seems rather calm as well, comparing them to the Addo ones.That popped into my mind straight away because we witnessed something similar there, just with a bull who was witha herd of females and their youngsters. That bull actually stuck his nose into a car. Slime could be seen on the dashboardafterwards. And some eyes almost popping during the event. Brownie! That must be a very good find!

Thanks Mel. Stress control is needed every now and again and a game reserve is the only way to reduce the stress. Interesting ellie encounter you had.

Holey Moley, stf! Must get onto Getaway again...brown hyena all over the place! Incredibly rare, matey! Also, agreed, a huge matriarch...are they still all Kruger ellies?

Day 1 - Tuesday afternoon. Part 2/2.

After checking we went and unpacked at our tent. I saw this Magpie Shrike.



Hoping that he was going to fly off sometime soon I set the camera on 1/4000 and waited.



Time to relax and have some lunch.





On our afternoon drive saw this chap looking quite calm and relaxed.



This guy seemed quite happy sitting in the top of a bush in the late afternoon sun.



On Tlhware Loop we saw two Black-backed Jackal also enjoying the late afternoon sun.

This one as doing a little dance which created a bit of a dust storm.





And one doing -----------------------



And lastly back at camp a scrub hare.
