Thanks very much ExFem.ExFmem wrote: Pretty cool seeing 2 generations of cheetah cubs
Of course I love the bfly, being an insectaholic, the ellies fighting are adorable, as is the Grebe.
The wildebeest running thru the water are really special and the Yellow-billed duck is quite striking.
Waiting for what your last day held
And it only gets better Flutterby.Flutterby wrote:Lovely sightings for your last morning.

Very impressive but sad to learn that 3 rhino were killed two days ago - one being an almost full grown foetus.Lisbeth wrote:Impressive rhino horns and I love the muddy piggy

Re: PILANESBERG PREDATOR PARADE
THURSDAY 12 OCTOBER 2017 PART 3/6
As Heinrich The Leopard Man of Pilanesberg says " one does not go and look for leopards, they come and look for you."
And so it was with Kgodisa today. While trundling slowly along Thlware Loop she suddenly popped out, crossed the road in front of us and walked next to our car for a few precious minutes before disappearing in the bush.
We tried to work out where she was going but lost her. From Thlware Loop we turned left on Motlobo Drive to head off back to camp for lunch. A short distance from the junction a car had stopped next to a wild fig tree. They pointed Kgodisa to us who was lying on a branch but well hidden.
As she dozed off we said our farewells and thanked her for showing herself and her cub to us over so many days.
Farewell Queen of Thlware.
After lunch the kids decided to go swim at the pool so Joan and I went out on our own.
First stop Tilodi Dam and some hornbills busy with their nest.
A peaceful scene on Motlobo Drive.
To be continued.

THURSDAY 12 OCTOBER 2017 PART 4/6
Stopped at Pilanesberg for a cold drink.
We decided to do Thutlwa Loop as we had not done for a few days.
It was not long before we saw some cars and after waiting a while for some cars to move on we saw these lazy lions right next to the road.
Our 90 minutes of great sightings had just begun.
We saw that their tummys looked pretty full so guessed they were going nowhere for a while.
Looks like this lady is saying " Hoof Hearted."
Looking pretty.
Man, but this being a lion is a tiring business.
This guy was so fast asleep he did not budge the whole 20 minutes were we with them.
Our intention was to continue with Thutlwa Loop but there was a complete road block ahead of us so we did a U-turn and headed back from where had come from.
What a blessing this turned out to be as we would never have seen what we saw next at 17:00 until 17:50. Our last sighting on our last day had come up trumps again.
To be continued in two instalments.

Great pics!
Looks like there are less flies and insects there than here in the Lowveld?
Rare hornbill stuff.
