Letaba & Mopani Sightings

Post by Flutterby »

I've been watching the sightings on BBM groups, and there seem to be very few sightings around Mopani and Letaba. Is that because there is less game, or fewer people? We have never had much luck around there.

What and where have your best sightings been in those areas?

I love it the way it is. \O All my pics in my TT thread are from this area, lets keep the techno rats away from here. X#X

Where do we look Sprocks & PN? We'll be there for one night at the end of Sept. and I want to maximise our chances!!! ;-) Besides not seeing any cats in those areas, even general game was sparse.

I love the Letaba area, this last Dec we had lions before the bridge, cheetah on s131 at Shivulani waterhole. Have previously had lions right outside camping area, always get nice sized Ellies.

Here are pics of cheetah from Dec, had about 15 mins with him until a big Ellie showed up at waterhole. Pity about collar and to think they are wanting to collar more animals.

We just want to see a few animals! ^0^ We'll be very quiet, I promise you, and we won't tell anyone that Kruger does extend beyond the Olifants river! -O
