Another nice initiative, from leachy's school:
MBOMBELA – The Geography Club of Lowveld High School (LHS) was over the moon when they managed to raise close to R6 000 worth of ProNutro for orphaned rhino calves at the Hoedspruit Endangered Species Centre (HESC).
This mission was accomplished in partnership with I’langa Mall’s Panarotti’s, which originally started the initiative. Two of the rhinos which benefitted from this generous donation were Gertjie, also known as Little G, and Matimba.
Lowvelder previously reported on the duo that was left orphaned after their mothers had been poached. According to the HESC Matimba and Little G eat approximately two and a half boxes ProNutro a day.
In typical LHS style, learners saw the need, but also the opportunity to give something back. They launched a competition at the school to help with the fund-raising and Mbombela quickly ran out of wheat-free ProNutro.
The HESC expressed its gratitude towards the school and thanked each and every person and business that were involved in the donation.
