This small but main camp is situated in the south and alongside the crocodile river. Very popular with day visitors staying outside the park

Chugamila
Southern tributary stream of the Shingwedzi between Tshange and Redrocks. The Chugamila hills were listed as a brown hyena sighting location in an old text!

Chauke Stream
This seems to be a tributary of the N'waswitshaka River and runs parallel to part of the H1-1 and S65.

Doispane Road and Waterhole
The Doispane Road (or S1) runs between Phabeni Gate and Skukuza. Doispan Waterhole (spelt as it was in Wolhuter's day) is found about 10 kms east of Phabeni Gate on the western banks of the Mtshawu Creek. Meaning 'dustbin' in Tsonga, it is named after a ranger who lived there during the early years of the Park, Doispane Mongwe. Ranger Harry Wolhuter camped there on his travels between Skukuza and Mtimba, where he lived.

Das Neves Cross
In October 1855, 25 year old Diocleciano Fernandes das Neves arrived in Lourenco Marques after 5 years of hunting on the Mosambique coast. He was only 30 years old when he undertook an epic journey to the Soutpansberg. He left Delagoa Bay on 3rd September 1860 and travelled through the area that is known as the Kruger National Park with 250 Africans following the existing trade route and crossed the Letaba river.
It is not conclusive that Das Neves carved the cross in the bark of a leadwood tree that is situated in the area of Letaba, but most historians accepts that it is

De Laporte Waterhole
Delaporte waterhole is close to Skukuza, and therefore it is normally quite busy with cars coming and going.
General game like impala, kudu, zebra, wildebeest and giraffe is commonly seen.
Lions and leopards sometimes take advantage of the prey that is openly available, and a few kills have been seen at this waterhole.
Elephants also come by for a drink every now and then.

Dipeni
S50 - Site and waterhole on the Eastern border along the Shingwedzi River. It was an entrance point for labourers for the Highveld goldmines, from Mozambique, in the previous century. Their feet were "dipped" as part of disease control - hence the name.
