DAY 1 - FRIDAY 7 OCTOBER 2016.
We arrived at Bakubang Gate at 12:30 and met Melanie, Norman and Kendall who were going to spend the week with us.
It was extremely hot with 40 showing on the car thermometer. Thank goodness for a good air conditioner in the car.
Our first afternoon did not reveal too much so we took shelter at the shelters around the pool at Manyane until such time as we could check in.
Did a short late afternoon drive with only the usual impala, wildebeest, springbuck etc etc. making an appearance but then lying in the shade.
Pilanesberg is extremely dry. Hardly recognised Mankwe Dam.It is quite distressing.
However, as quiet as today was the rest of the trip was to prove to be our most exciting and best trip in the 10 years we have been going for annual October week.
Welcome on board.
So ends day 1.

Re: OUR OCTOBER 2016 WEEK
DAY 2 - SATURDAY 8 OCTOBER 2016. MORNING.
We were just minutes out of camp on the Tilodi Loop when we saw this young lady, Aurora, with her breakfast. Fortunately she was quite far away and half way up the hill so the cars could spread themselves out along the road and everyone had a good view.
We watched Aurora for an hour before she jumped out of the tree and disappeared into some bushes.
I saw these two little ones in the gents toilet at Pilanesberg Centre.
A nice Kudu family crossing the road.
On the pathway to Rathlogo Hide Kendall found playing in the sand far more interesting than looking for animals.
A Dassie on the rocks on Thlware Loop.
It was now getting very hot and all the animals had headed for shade and a lie down so we did the same.

Starting with a leopard the rest gets a bit of an anti climax
