So I arrived at Schiphol Thursday lunch time as my flight would take off at 16:00,

I have issues with sleeping on planes, so i had a game plan.
Drink lots of beer and then pass out after dinner until landing time.

After consuming 2 draughts with my lunch i decided it was time to go through customs, and find the irish pub with the smoking room.

Customs was a breeze and before i knew it i was having another draught and a smoke.

My plan was coming together.

After another beer and smoke it was boarding time.

was a quick flight from Amsterdam to heathrow and a hour between flights, so had to rush.

Finally onboard my flight to SA

Dinner served, drinks time.

Beers were not cold so had to make another plan.

Drink finished, head phones on, and away i drift into dream world.

I wake up, only to discover it is 2 AM and still have another 5 hours left of the flght.

My Plan didnt work -O- wonder why.

So i watched Game of Thrones season 4 sor the 3rd time......... O/

So i watched Game of Thrones season 4 for the 3rd time......... O/

Finally it 10 minutes to landing.

Touch down everything goes smoothly, until customs.
Love the South African work ethics, but hey. 30 minutes to clear customs and I’m out.

Had my friend, sister and niece there to welcome me.
My daughter was supposed to have joined, but her @#$ grandmother decided it was unfair to wake her early so she could come to the airport.

Now i needed a rental car, my SA license had just expired and haven't had the time to do my Dutch drivers license yet.

So off to Florida licensing department my form says number 49 in the queue. We wait, after 90 minutes only 4 numbers have been called.
So scrap that idea, a friend of mine would be joining on my trip so i called him sent him some cash and he hired the car on his name.

So time to go fetch my Daughter.

She started yelling in the class, was a awesome feeling, then time for a few six packs of klippies and cola.

Those of you who have met me before know that i would always shave my head as short as possible.
But after i arrived in NL, i was told i cannot do that anymore as its only polish immigrants who shave their heads

end of day 1, 2 items checked off my list lol

With all that drinking, how could you expect to sleep? You'd have to run to that tiny kind of closet that they call WC on the flight O**

So, My friend landed from cape town at 14:00, organzed the rental and drove through to the west rand to come and pick up my daughter and myself.

We then first had to drive to Lenasia to go and fetch camping gear i could borrow from another one of my friends.

After buying all our meat and beer we were finally on our way.

Reached Mayane at about 18:30 checked in and then it was time to setup the tent and start a fire.

first sighting......of course

You got a real cute camera person! I think, she can be forgiven for taking photos through closed windows lol

Where do you live these days? -O-
