a lot cheaper that the chalets. Check on gumtree around about now. People bought equipment and used it over Dec and now they need money. Lots of guys camp once and end up selling stuff.

You'll pay off the costs in chalets in about 5 years...then the kids are gone! =O:

Alf, our alien friend :-)

Here is some humble advise from me O**

If your'e sure about the camping thing like us, start by getting just the essentials like a tent at first(you can upgrade to a caravan later if you guys like the camping thing), chairs, stretchers, table, matressess, ext cords, a fridge(we have a small chest freezer that fits in the double decker trailer) do NOT buy all sorts off gadgets that you will never use O** we learned the hard way and lost lots of money on nice to haves that we don't use....buy clever \O

Our kit is just about the same as above and the whole lot including a 3m x 3m dome tent and a 2.1 x 2.1m dome tent with the double decker trailer is worth about R 30000
The trailer: Venter Super 6

My calculations today came to R 46500 with basic stuff. Not even all the things. No fancy things.

I will start with a tent, stretchers, sleeping bags, freezer etc and then see what size trailer to buy
