13 June, Croc Bridge

There was a small waterhole across the road and the lion made his way there, all the while roaring his head off!! ^Q^ ^Q^

We thought he was going to drink, but he sniffed around a bit, sprayed a few bushes and then turned round and headed back to his mate.

Of course we missed videoing the best bits, :O^ but you can still hear him roaring a bit. ;-)

Unfortunately the clock was ticking and we had to leave. :-( But this was one of our best lion sightings in a long time. There is nothing so majestic as a male lion in motion, and in full voice!! ^Q^ ^Q^

We headed back down the S130, and came across the sunset drive vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. I stopped and waited for the driver to move over so we could get past, but he couldn't start the vehicle! 0*\ We waited and waited, but eventually we had to get moving otherwise we would get back to camp late. I had to drive off road, with the guests in the vehicle directing me. I was just praying that we wouldn't get another puncture! O** As we made it past, the driver managed to start the truck!! 0*\ Anyway, we made it back to camp with seconds to spare, and got our last fire going. Pork ribs and rump steak were on the menu, and perfectly cooked if I say so myself!

Definitely better than just sleeping! There's wasn't much water in that pan then so I'm not surprised it's empty now. :-(
