Been a while since my last confesio ... I mean trip report so I though I would post some memories of our Jan 2018 Trip . My sister has a place at Marloth park that we can use so we planned to go up in January to use to go into Kruger and then managed to get a couple of days in Tamboti tents . The trip was the SO the 3 Rugrats the youngest Rugrats boyfriend and his mother .They traveled up to Marloth and Tamboti separately in their Bakkie due to space limits when packed and then we did the travels around in the bus ...
Arriving on the 3rd of Jan at Marloth we unpacked and went to the fence to see what was about :
The river was flowing well and there was very green grass around .
Some pretty flowers about .
A LBJ
A Waterbuck was browsing
And the full moon was out that night ,we hoped it did not light the way for any poachers .It did encourage Fluffy the local Lion in Lionspruit inside Marloth to voice his opinion on land rights with the Lions in Kruger :

Is the house at the fence or did you walk to the fence. If I remember well, there is a path all the way along the river
Nice running water and green grass
Do mouse whiskers look like that? Very pretty

Great thank you for the Id of the flower .There was quite a few around the house .Klipspringer wrote: ↑Wed Apr 17, 2019 10:39 pm Very nice to see the lush green The flowers is a Yellow mouse-whiskers Cleome angustifolia.
they were very lucky to get the house before the prices went up .It is their planned retirement home .They don't have electrickery installed but with some solar panels and car charging that is not a problem for those of use attached to our technology
Alf
it suits it so well
It was hot from day 1 but we came prepared with camping fans .
Their house is not at the fence-line those properties with the view into the river and Kruger are very expensive .They are about 5 mins walk fro the fence-line on the back stretch behind the farm section .The fence is great to walk /drive along .(some more fence line shots later in the report). A map with the house (Hornbill rd) and surrounds :

The next morning we had a team arrive for an early site inspection ....
Checking the braai grid was cleaned
And general cleaning
The sentry kept a close eye on us :
while the rest checked out the pond
After they moved off a finch came to check there was still seeds in the feeder
Even a lizard decided to try some fruit
after all the visitors we finally manged to get ready for a outside the park day & shopping for supplies .As we were leaving we got some late visitors who decided they were going to meander around the cars and driveway :
When they moved off (Ostriches are quite intimidating on foot close up ) we left to go to Pilgramsrest and Potholes ....
