Aat&Elly:09-Mega Story about a Mega Pride in the North (part IV and V)

Post by aat »

First of all I would say THANKS for all the comments. Really appreciated O0 O0 X#X X#X

I just posted Part IV and V (last one) of this story...

09 – Into the Mega Pride part IV

Here is part IV of this mega story about the mega pride (northern section of Kruger NP)

After the sightings October 25th and November 1st (2016) we were lucky again November 3rd
This time the pride has moved a bit and had a kill (Buffalo) just in front of Boyela Waterhole (between Shingwedzi and Punda Maria)

Early morning, sunrise and the big pride again on our way. Could not believe it but it was true. And in the middle of the pride watching and hearing them eating. Great to see and hear them at just a few meters away.

First photo I made of them… near the “buffalo”

Same pride but different location and Lion near and between the palms was beautiful
I made a lot of pictures again, so I selected some for the whole impression. Again just a few cars and sometimes no one else… imagine something like this near Lower Sabie or Skukuza… pffffffffffffffffffffff

In the middle of the pride with lion all around us… looking left – right…window down , click and window up…. Done this many times… smileeee..

-
Image
-

If you are young you have to learn a lot… this cub was thinking… “take him by the horn”

-
Image
-

Just a little bit ahead more lions appeared. This is one of my favorite photo’s , the combination of colors, lion and palms and mom and cubs…

-
Image
-

It was like an organized shift-change… new ones arrived for the left-overs and others moved away for a nap or nice position between the palms

-

And

-

Leaving the “eating” group for a while and moving forward to look at other members of the pride. Mom and cub … just lovely

-

A bit further away this “little cute one” was asking for a photo.

-

More members of the pride were walking away to find a place to “sleep”

I also posted the final part V (the after party) together with this part IV….

Thanks and hope you also liked this part IV

10 – Into the Mega Pride part V (Final part)

This is the final part, for some reasons the “After Party”

With the last pictures I posted in part IV we left the area and went to Punda Maria for breakfast. After driving around we had to go back to Shingwedzi. Near the buffalo carcass it was quiet… Lions gone .. ? NO…. they were near the road , a few hundred meters away from the leftovers of the kill.

A Jackal was waiting a long long time, but finally he could come for his part of the carcass.

-

-

I think this was the first time I could capture a Jackal standing still and just a few meters away. He was just too busy with “his” kill…smileee

-
Image
-

Moving back a bit… because the lions were just too smart between the palms to ignore them.

Cub-time….

-
Image
-

As a goodbye to this huge pride showing this cub

-

Back to the carcass… Jackal gone and as usual… Vultures around.

And

Last picture

I posted part IV together with this part, so enjoy and hope you liked the whole story

Absolutely brilliant, aat! It shows the cycle of predators and vultures nicely indeed! ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

Ja, no vultures if it were in the tar road in the south! lol

You certainly enjoy lions and lala palms together! =O:
