I never enter Kruger without cash, because the ATMs are mostly offlineas the card machines were down ...
The family life of the elephants is fascinating
Is that a wound on the thigh of the baby gnu

Yes we were quite worried but it did move a little and it was very very hot and dryAlf wrote:Poor little elephant. He looks exhausted
Nope nowhere tall enough but they enjoyed the shadenan wrote:the Giraffes can't acces the tank
even if they are very tall
love the little one having a nap
was very different this year from last with the ellies they were much calmer (hotter) we could stop opposite them and observe without any fear.Flutterby wrote:The new gnu is very sweet. Just love the way ellie moms watch over their sleeping babies.
Luckily in KNP especially on the camps we were in you can shoot out to the local towns if needed .Lisbeth wrote:I never enter Kruger without cash, because the ATMs are mostly offlineas the card machines were down ...

Re: Landy rolls to Kruger
So we reached the Dam again it was midday and the heat was easily in the 40's
Some Giraffe were leaving the dam with a lone bull ellie in tow
The Ellie was giving himself a hot dust bath as he walked off
The Girraffes suddenly took off and as my mind wondered what had happened I relised it was the only way for them to get up the steep path
A breeding heard arrived at the opposite bank to get some relief from the heat
We left with the aircon on full and did not see anything else moving in the heat along the dirt .Making our way back onto the Tar ....
