The call was not just for poaching issues Toks, but for bad missmanagement that opens the doors to poaching. Hence we're in the 'management forum' ;-)

Do you think so :-? I don't think it will result in a more proactive approach -O- I would love to be proven wrong \O

Exactly Toko, poaching is only one of the many reasons we are calling for him to step down. ;-)

However, this discussion is about one of the other reasons,...SANParks has lost control over their ability to afford guests a pleasurable stay at a market related rate while offering substandard accommodation, service and client relations. ;-)

Ok, so lets take it back to the first post, remember we are going to solve a problem so lets keep it positive

Does anyone have any other ways to structure the privatization step?

Yip!!

SANParks appoints company X to run hospitality at the camps. A set fee is charged to X per camp. All complaints are dealt with penalty charges to X. Get it right, X makes money and SP and guests are happy! Get it wrong, X suffers financially and SP have to answer to the public, forcing them to have legit and uncorrupted tender procedures. \O

Fair enough, so now....... Would privatization work?
In my view the new company would have to outlay a hell of a lot of money.
Firstly to restore the premises to an acceptible condition.

Their only source of income would be from the restaurant and the accommodation fee, no other revenue generators to help with the balnce sheet. No subsidies to help carry the load. Result increased tarrifs for sure.

Any reputable hospitality company would grab the opportunity. They obviously would have enough financial backup, and at the current rates it would not take too long to appreciate a positive ROI.

It all depends what what SanParks would be expecting in return for their arrangement.
Without having the required info at hand, my gut feel is that my potential for income growth is far too limited unless I up the tarrif.
