PLEASE NOTE: 2019 KNP RHINO AND ELEPHANT POPULATION CENSUS

Visitors to Kruger are hereby informed that an aerial census of the KNP Rhino and Elephant Populations commenced on Saturday, 17 August 2019.

The census is being conducted by SANParks staff using helicopters and recording any sightings of black rhino, white rhino and elephants. This will cause some noise and possible disturbance at viewing areas for the next few weeks.

It is just a statistical aerial transect semi-census every year or two, not a proper fixed-wing one that covers the entire park and includes ALL animals. O/
