The Arctic ocean could find itself completely free from ice in the summer even before 2050. These are the results of a new study directed by Dirk Notz of the University of Hamburg, the result of the collaboration of an international team of researchers from 21 institutes.

The results of 40 different climate models were analyzed. "Most of them - explains the Italian researcher Dorotea Iovino - expect that the Arctic will find itself free of ice in September before 2050, in all the scenarios examined".
