Inhambane highway link.

Post by H. erectus »

The very day that the Giriyondo gate was opened was the very
same day that this nonsense was invited.

"another Chinese" having shown interest in that project...

Maybe SA and the rest of Africa should make sure not to sell themselves out to them in their desire to find investors to up their infrastructure O-/

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Inhambane is seeking financing for the construction of a road linking the province from Mapinhane in Vilankulo district, across the Pafuri border in Gaza province and so to South Africa.

The project, called the Limpopo Corridor, is valued at US$700 million.

According to the governor of Inhambane, Daniel Chapo, the project is still in negotiation, with three groups, one South African, another Chinese and the third Zambian, having already expressed and interest.

Daniel Chapo considers the project important because, in his words, it will increase tourism in the Vilankulo/Inhassoro region, where there are large projects linked to the sector, and also the big Sasol expansion of a gas plant and construction of the light oil factory whose second stage starts in July.

Chapo was speaking at a conference on investment in Inhambane held this Thursday in South Africa where Inhambane showcased its potential and investment opportunities, with the emphasis on agriculture, agro-industry, infrastructure, mineral resources, energy, tourism and fisheries.

Governor Daniel Chapo took the opportunity to invite foreign investors to attend the Inhambane Province Investment Conference next month.

The Invest in Inhambane Conference included sessions on the business environment in Mozambique, including legislative and other relevant aspects, and Mozambique Airlines took the opportunity to announce that air links between Johannesburg and the cities of Inhambane and Vilankulo will soon begin.

To date, the largest investors in Inhambane province are China and South Africa.
