Ironically, I think Avis was indeed there in the old days! :-)

Also, the private lodges used the airport as well!

But it was a small operation indeed, compared to this! O-/

Our national heritage has been in unsafe hands for many a year!!!!

It was a small operation under the entire control of SP and aviation authorities, H., maybe a few flights per week, with small planes and twin props, only Comair...(Besides SP's own flights, as in delivering animals, and VIP's, it must be said!)

No "commercial consortiums"!

I guess us plebs, the bulk of the loyal clients, that travel those roads regularly don't matter -O-
I was thinking the same thing Duke \O

I find it rather amusing though and without getting political “Why are the roads in such a bad state” :-? I wonder if the Dr would care to elaborate O**

Maybe his tyres are more expensive than ours? -O -O -O

But seriously...isn't KNP committed to developing the communities these "tortuous roads" run through? :-?

I beg your's RP, even in those days on a much smaller scale maybe,
the commercial rot had already manifested itself.

Sanparks, in no uncertain terms, requires aircraft for their daily
purpose regarding conservation. In fact, if needed, please extend
that runway too accommodate military aircraft too protect the rhino.

Too ship people in and out, because the land comes cheapskate and
there is a buck to be turned, nah nah, not on!!!

This subject I feel needs to be included into the anti hotel and PDZ
controversy!!!

This is just another commercial plot being exercised over the back of
conservation.

H. the runway is long enough for nearly all our military aircraft, they have recently had Dakota's and C-130's in there. \O

Airlink and their mates are on a winning wicket financially with this one. They will be the only allowed carrier to land at "Skuk's International", as is the case with Phalaborwa. The Phala-JHB flight is the most expensive in the country at just over R1600 one way. This could however be a positive, as it will also not be a cheap flight and it will keep the number of flights limited.

And yes Tshukudu, SANParks have already put out a tender application for the operating of a car rental service at the airport. O/

HHHhmmmphh, Sprocky!!!????

How too explain commercialization and all side effects..
Precisely this is where matters become over exploited!!!

We grant an airliner passage way but spend little time
considering what baggage comes along with it.
