We have seen lion a few times right at the T-junction of the H6 and H1-3. The rest of the H6 always been quiet for us.

Next trip to the bush??

Let me think......................

No pics, Dzombs...not a very popular road... 0:

It was one of the later tar roads to be built in Kruger, like most north of Tshokwane, the army paid for it to enable faster access to the base at Nwanetsi, when there was a low-scale war going on with insurgents from Moz and what not. Rather ironic! \O

Saw this male lion on the H6 during the Brat's very first trip to Kruger in October 2008. ;-)

We've never had much luck on this road, but in April 2014 we struck it lucky. ;-)

Twins

Image

Mom had this injury. :-(

Image

Just after leaving these giraffe I saw something running in the bushes so we reversed but couldn't see anything. While trying to spot whatever it was, the Brat pointed out a vehicle stopped further on so we approached them to see what they could see. Five cheetah had made a kill literally 2 minutes before!! What I had seen running was obviously one of the cheetah, but we had just missed the kill!! 0*\

The pics aren't great as they were quite far in, and I could never get the five all in one shot!

Image

They were quite skittish and ate very fast, and the vultures started arriving almost as soon as they had made the kill.

Image

They moved off the kill after about only half an hour.
