This pic is in my Trip Report but to me it eptomises the superiority of the Kudu also known as the Grey Ghost. How many times have you seen a group of say 5 Kudu cows and youngsters cross the road sedately and slowly disappear into their favorite entangled patch of bush. No Bulls following ..but the big trophy bulls are very wary and havent grown out big horns by being careless and stupid..If you wait 10 mins or so in dead silence..they normally stampede across in front or slip by behind your vehicle . It generally wont happen in busy areas with passing traffic so the quiet confluence south of Tsendze was perfect for this as a Kudu family minus Big Guy ambled by and I waited and waited and then he was there on FULL brights ..Ears out like radar screens , Nostrils flaring trying to get a whiff of what this white metal thing with wheels was as he stared me out ..I moved slightly ..took the shot ..He froze then there was that tell tale spasm of his shoulder muscle count to 2 and he barked and sped off ...Typical Grey Ghost Bull behaviour
