I understand when one books a campsite at Rooiputs you do it through Botswana and not Sanparks

Where do you book in when arriving at Kgalagadi for this camp -O-

Next trip to the bush??

Let me think......................

..You go straight into the Reception at the gate at Twee Rivieren and instead of going to the SANParks counter on the left you approach the Counter on the right in the same hall ..this is where Botswana Tourism reception staff sits ...Just hand your handwritten booking slip for Rooiputs to them and you are on your way up the road for 35 Kms to your pre allocated camp site in this piece of heaven
Our Camp every year in April.jpg
Our home for 11 days in April ..the little burrow in at the bottom of the pic is that of a Cape Fox known as 'Frikkie' who is the resident pet of Campsite 3 where our tent / trailer and bakkie and longdrop is pictured on the hill ..Best value Wildlife accommodation in Africa ..Pula 140 per night TOTAL for Jane and I ..and they dont have Pensioners discounts ..well they also don't have Electricity , Flush loos , Water on tap, Dustbins, Grassed gardens, Paved Roads , Camp Fence, Resident Staff, Shop, Filling Station, ...so I guess you get what you pay for..."Lion Highway' is the little road on the right that ends up at Camp site 5 ....800 meters behind where I was standing ..Campsite 5 has the water tanks for the Lodge a km away and they leak when full = Lion magnets in this thirsty part of Africa..They drink and then walk on that little road past the little tree on the right to sleep in our long drop enclosure at camp 3 ..Its top left in Pic ..Often you come out to do something like clean your teeth and look around ..all clear ..2 mins later as you are rinsing your mouth you look up and there 30 metres away are 4 lions approaching Campsite 3 from 5 to go sleep ..this happened to Durban friends of ours last week when they were in 3 Needless to say the Loo was out of bounds for most of the rest of that day     Cant wait for our annual stay here in April

The Light Pollution at Rooiputs rivals Las Vegas casino Strip and Times Square New York ........Jane Tidying up everything outside before we go into the tent for the night ..Leave anything outside and it will be gone in the morning..Crime is a huge problem there ..a common problem in 'Large' Cities around the world...arresting these criminals can be dangerous to your health though
