In October 2012 we got close-up lions at an eland kill at Auchter:

The clean-up team was on standby.

The jackals were argueing about who would get to the remains of the kill first.

The next morning the lions had gone, but the BBJs and vultures fed on the remains of the eland kill.

We also discovered a familar chat that was raising its chicks in a gap in the ablution building at Auchter.
