JUST over R19-million rand was raised at an Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife game auction held at Sibaya Casino in Durban on Wednesday.
In total, 39 white rhino were sold at an average price of R390 000, which is R35 000 up from last year’s average.
A female white rhino and her calf fetched R800 000, the highest price paid on the day.
Ezemvelo officials were surprised that all plains animals such as wildebeest and warthogs were sold, despite the gavel falling on prices much lower than the 2015 average.
Waterbuck stole the show when both on auction, on sale for the first time since 2011, sold for R30 000 apiece, up from R7 000.

Somebody has understood that with the Sanparks commercializing politics of today the park is not going to last for long and wild animals will be gaining in value

Not to talk about Rhinos and poaching 0*\

I am convinced that the government has only changed their mind temporarily a has intention to ask for trade permission soon. Maybe they want to see how CITES reacts to Namibia's and Swaziland's request.
