Every first Friday of the month. residents of Grietjie get together at the river for sundowners. Here is a pic of one large guest that, luckily, was on the opposite bank enjoying the last bit of the days sunshine...

The fun never stops here!

Yesterday evening it was too cold to sit on the stoep, so we relaxed indoors for a change. When it was dark, the Elephants started going crazy, trumpeting and breaking trees. We could hear there was quite a big herd around the house, but couldn't see any of them. The noise carried on until after we had gone to bed. When we were up this morning it was quiet, for a reason. They were now in the yard, they had bust through the fence during the night and managed to partially destroy a lot of trees and plants. It was not light enough for photography, but I managed to get this pic of one of them very close to the house...
