The last night of our 3 night stay at Kakadu we spent at Mary River Crossing - actually the best camp site of all over those days.
Lovely scenery, not many visitors and no light pollution at night.

Just before we got there, I found myself some red kangaroos - who, unfortunately jumped off when I got a bit closer to them. O/

Lots of wallabies on the actual site. This one, I believe, is an agile wallaby.

A stroll down to the river produced another whistling kite.

At night one of those naughty cane toads hobbled along our camp site.

I know you said you didn't see enough kangaroos while you were down under, but you sure got a great photo of the 2 big reds you did see!! ^Q^ [O]
That is such an iconic image of the red kangaroos bounding through the outback - just love it \O

Plus so many fabulous birds :-) :-)
