The last night of our 3 night stay at Kakadu we spent at Mary River Crossing - actually the best camp site of all over those days.
Lovely scenery, not many visitors and no light pollution at night.
Just before we got there, I found myself some red kangaroos - who, unfortunately jumped off when I got a bit closer to them.
Lots of wallabies on the actual site. This one, I believe, is an agile wallaby.
A stroll down to the river produced another whistling kite.
And an Australian figbird

At night one of those naughty cane toads hobbled along our camp site.
There are no Kangaroos Down Under!?

And I just figured that I missed out some photos from the day before.
That's what you get when using two cameras - the naming is completely messed up.

Stunning pics Mel.
Love the billabong scene.

Hi Mel
I know you said you didn't see enough kangaroos while you were down under, but you sure got a great photo of the 2 big reds you did see!!
That is such an iconic image of the red kangaroos bounding through the outback - just love it
Plus so many fabulous birds
How many days now until KTP??
